Weekly Food Menu
Food & Choice at ADC
At Angelina’s Day Care, we recognise that healthy nutrition plays a vital role in children's health, development, learning, and overall wellbeing. Our food provision is planned in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework (2025) to ensure every meal is balanced, age-appropriate, and enjoyed in a safe, supportive environment
Nutrition by Age Group
Babies
Routine: We mirror your home schedule for sleeping and feeding to ensure a seamless transition between home and nursery.
Support: Whether breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, we provide full support in a calm and comforting environment. Whole milk is offered daily.
Weaning: When the time is right, we work in partnership with you to safely introduce solids and explore new textures.
Toddlers
Discovery: We balance new tastes with familiar comforts to encourage adventurous eating without the pressure.
Healthy Habits: We use praise, patience, and encouragement to build positive associations with nutritious food.
Social Skills: Mealtimes are treated as a social occasion where children learn to share, chat, and enjoy food together.
Preschoolers
Energy: Our menus are designed with balanced, nutrient-dense meals to fuel active play and learning.
Independence: Children are encouraged to serve themselves (with guidance) to learn about portion control and making choices.
Education: We teach children how healthy food powers their bodies, helping them make great choices for life.
Key Policies
Drinks & Hydration Hydration is key to concentration and health. Fresh drinking water is available at all times throughout the day, and whole milk is offered daily.
Allergens & Dietary Requirements Children's safety is our priority. We carefully manage allergies, intolerances, and religious dietary needs. Please inform us of any requirements before your child starts. All meals can be adapted where possible, and our team follows strict safe food-handling procedures.
Food Brought from Home To maintain our healthy eating standards, we kindly ask that any food brought from home aligns with EYFS guidance. Please avoid items high in sugar, salt, or highly processed ingredients. This supports a consistent, healthy approach across the nursery.
Ingredient Availability Where specific ingredients are unavailable, suitable alternatives from the same food group will be provided to ensure meals remain balanced and nutritious.
